[Solar PV: Solx and Caelux Announce 5-Year Partnership to Scale Perovskite-Silicon Tandem Modules]
U.S.-based solar manufacturer Solx and perovskite technology specialist Caelux have announced a five-year, 3 GW strategic partnership to produce next-generation hybrid tandem solar modules. The collaboration integrates Caelux’s “Active Glass” perovskite coating onto Solx’s “Aurora” platform, which utilizes silicon cells manufactured by U.S.-based Suniva. This hybrid tandem approach achieves a power conversion efficiency of 28% and creates a fully domestic U.S. supply chain for high-performance solar energy. The companies expect to deliver these advanced modules to the U.S. commercial market by 2027, following the recent startup of Solx’s manufacturing operations in Puerto Rico earlier this month.
