On February 10, the 2 GWh sodium-ion battery production line project of Pu'er Dianna Energy, a subsidiary of Natrium Innovation Energy, officially commenced operations in the Ning'er District of Pu'er City, Yunnan. With a total fixed asset investment of 800 million yuan, this project is the first sodium-ion battery initiative in Pu'er City. It primarily manufactures sodium-ion battery PACK products and covers businesses such as battery manufacturing, parts sales, and energy storage technology services.
Dianna Energy was established in May 2025 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Natrium Innovation Energy. Natrium Innovation Energy is an enterprise formed from the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Founded in Shaoxing in 2018, it was one of the earliest entrants in China's sodium-ion battery industry and has developed a comprehensive product portfolio including layered oxide and polyanion cathode materials, electrolytes, and functional additives.
This commencement marks a substantive step in the capacity layout of sodium-ion batteries in south-west China and adds GWh-level capacity support for the "second wave of industrialisation" of sodium-ion batteries in 2026.
