【SMM Steel】Ukraine's DMZ to Construct New Above-Ground Water Pipeline

Published: Oct 27, 2025 16:41
【SMM Steel】Ukraine's Dnipro Metallurgical Plant will build a new above-ground water pipeline to save energy and improve water supply efficiency. The original system supplied technical water through underground pipelines from onshore pumping station No.2, with off-site sections complicating maintenance and monitoring while causing additional water losses and energy costs. The new pipeline will directly connect coastal pumping station No.1 to the treatment facilities at rolling mill No.2, reducing total length by 1.6 kilometers. This enables timely inspection, maintenance and real-time monitoring while lowering operational costs and enhancing production safety. DMZ also plans to use the new system to reduce electricity consumption by pumping equipment, minimize technical water losses, and improve overall resource efficiency.
