Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 14, XPENG Charging and bp pulse signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to mutually open their charging networks, according to a post on XPENG's WeChat account.

This collaboration aims to provide customers access to over 30,000 chargers across 420 cities in China, creating one of the most premium charging networks in the country's core urban areas.

bp pulse, backed by bp's global integrated energy ecosystem and advanced charging infrastructure, is dedicated to delivering safe, fast, and reliable charging services for electric vehicle (EV) drivers. In China, bp pulse operates more than 1,000 charging stations and over 23,000 charging piles. Meanwhile, XPENG's charging network has comprised over 2,000 stations and 10,000 charging piles.

Through the partnership, XPENG Charging and bp pulse will integrate their networks to expand coverage and improve user experience. The two companies also plan to establish pilot projects in key economic hubs, combining resources such as equipment and sites to deploy ultra-fast charging networks. This initiative will offer EV users higher density, premium quality, and more reliable charging services.

Additionally, XPENG and bp pulse will explore broader collaborative models, such as photovoltaics-energy storage-charging integrated energy networks and demand-side energy response solutions. By leveraging their respective strengths, the partnership aims to accelerate the expansion of efficient and cost-effective charging infrastructure.

Looking ahead, XPENG announced plans to expand its charging network globally by 2025. Starting with an overseas vehicle services platform, the company will provide solutions for locating charging stations, making reservations, and handling payments. The initial rollout of its global charging network is expected to span Asia, Europe, and Australia. Pilot projects for storage-based charging solutions will also help reduce costs and improve network deployment.

XPENG has been ramping up its global expansion efforts. In addition to its upcoming overseas charging network, the company has already introduced several smart EV models in countries including Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Iceland, Spain, and Portugal. XPENG has also entered the Middle East and Africa markets.
