In November 2024, the production of dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide increased compared to the previous month, while gadolinium oxide production continued to decline. Meanwhile, holmium oxide production maintained a slight upward trend.

According to the SMM survey, driven by increased demand from leading producers and market news, the production of dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide saw a slight MoM increase. In contrast, the market demand for gadolinium oxide remained sluggish, prompting some separation enterprises to adjust their operating rates.

Additionally, China's ion-adsorption ore imports from the Panwa region had not returned to normal in November, posing challenges for companies relying on imported ion-adsorption ore for production. Miners expect this situation to persist until the end of December, indicating that ion-adsorption ore supply in the region may remain tight in the short term. Despite the ongoing disruption in ion-adsorption ore imports, domestic separation plants have sufficient inventory, ensuring that the production of medium-heavy rare earth oxides remains unaffected.

[SMM Rare Earth Weekly Review: Market Sluggish around Holiday, Rare Earth Prices in the Doldrums] The Pr-Nd oxide market saw a poor trading atmosphere recently. Downstream metal plants showed low enthusiasm in inquiries and procurement around the holiday, but upstream suppliers maintained firm offers amid tight spot cargo availability, and low-priced sources remained difficult to find. Overall, Pr-Nd oxide price fluctuations were relatively small. As of today, Pr-Nd oxide prices adjusted slightly downward to 762,000-768,000 yuan/mt.

Northern Minerals' Dazzler Mine Resource Up 70%, Grade Rises 40% in WA Rare Earth Project
Northern Minerals' Dazzler rare earth mine in Western Australia saw its resource increase to 340,000 mt at a total rare earth oxide (TREO) grade of 2.1%, equating to 7,000 mt of TREO. The mine is the highest-grade heavy rare earth deposit in the Browns Range area, with ore tonnage increasing by 70% and grade rising by 40%. When the Browns Range project is developed, ore from the Dazzler deposit will be blended with ore from the Wolverine deposit.
