In June 2024, China imported a total of 480,300 tonnes of sheet metal, down 9.58% month-on-month and 8.41% year-on-year. From January to June 2024, China imported a total of 3,023,900 tonnes of sheet metal, a year-on-year decrease of 5.30%.

In June, China exported a total of 5,815,300 tonnes of sheet metal, a decrease of 10.48% month-on-month but an increase of 20.45% year-on-year. From January to June 2024, China exported a total of 36,447,700 tonnes of steel products, up 28.41% year-on-year. Among them, exports of hot-rolled steel, cold-rolled steel, medium and heavy plates, strip steel, and other sheet metal products all showed significant year-on-year growth.
