Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 22, at the Huawei Developer Conference 2024 (HDC 2024), Huawei officially launched the Pangu large model 5.0, featuring comprehensive upgrades across full-series, multi-modal, and enhanced cognitive capabilities.

The company also shared innovative applications and practical implementations of the Pangu large model in various fields, including autonomous driving, industrial design, architectural design, embodied intelligence, media production, high-speed rail, steel manufacturing, and meteorology, further addressing industry challenges.

The Pangu large model 5.0 introduces an innovative controllable spatiotemporal generation technology. By integrating scenario video generation, 4D BEV video generation, autonomous driving simulation libraries, and road network information, it enhances the understanding of physical laws. This technology can generate vast amounts of driving video data consistent with real-world scenarios and flexibly add control conditions, creating training videos for different road conditions, lighting, and weather, thereby accelerating the rapid maturation of autonomous driving technology.

For example, designing a new car model typically takes 1-2 years. With the Pangu large model, this timeframe can be significantly shortened. Designers can interact with the model through dialogue and sketching to generate 3D digital car models. These models can be adjusted for style, edited for components, and changed for color. The digital models generated by the Pangu large model can be directly output as 3D files in over ten mainstream formats, allowing designers to 3D print samples, reducing the need for multiple clay model iterations and saving substantial time and costs.

In addition to automotive design, the Pangu large model can also be applied to tool and mold design in the automotive industry, as well as industrial design for electronic products.

[Automotive: Toyota Decides To Halt Development Of Certain Models]
Toyota Motor Corporation has decided to halt the development of its next-generation battery electric vehicles, specifically targeting a sedan model for its luxury brand Lexus that was originally planned to commence production in mid-2027. This vehicle, featuring fast-charging capabilities and longer cruising range, was showcased at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2023. Initially planned for market launch in 2026, its production start was later postponed to 2027. Over the past year, Toyota's global electric vehicle sales exceeded 190,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 42.4%. However, the decision by the Trump administration in the US to eliminate tax incentives for electric vehicle purchases has created adverse market conditions.
