China Targets 12 Million Charging Infrastructures Nationwide by 2025 to Boost Electric Vehicle Adoption

[China's National Energy Administration: around 12 million charging infrastructures to be built across the country by 2025]

On June 20th, Zhang Jianhua, the director of the National Energy Administration, stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that they will balance energy security and low-carbon transformation, promote high-quality energy development by协同发力 from both supply and demand sides. We need to do a good job in reducing carbon emissions on the consumer side. We will continue to promote the transformation and upgrading of energy use methods, deeply promote the substitution of electricity in industries such as industrial, construction, transportation, and agriculture, and enhance the service guarantee capability of electric vehicle charging. By 2025, around 12 million charging infrastructures will be built across the country. Through concerted efforts from all parties, we aim to increase the level of terminal energy electrification to around 30% by 2025.
