[SEMI: Global Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry Improved in the First Quarter, with China Having the Highest Growth Rate]
The latest report compiled by SEMI in cooperation with TechInsights shows that with the increase in electronics sales, stable inventory, and the expansion of wafer fab capacity, the global semiconductor manufacturing industry showed signs of improvement in the first quarter of 2024, and the industry growth is expected to be stronger in the second half of the year. In addition, wafer fab capacity continues to increase, with an estimated output of over 40 million wafers (calculated in 300mm wafer equivalents) per quarter. The capacity increased by 1.2% in the first quarter of this year and is expected to increase by 1.4% in the second quarter. China remains the country with the highest growth rate in capacity among all regions. (SEMI)
