SMM Daily: Lithium Carbonate Prices Slightly Rise on March 18th

SMM, March 18th – SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index is at 111,306 yuan/ton, an increase of 837 yuan/ton compared to the previous working day. Battery-grade lithium carbonate is priced at 110,000-115,100 yuan/ton, a rise of 300 yuan/ton from the previous working day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate is at 105,000-110,000 yuan/ton, with an average price of 107,500 yuan/ton, a 600 yuan/ton increase from the previous working day. Today, lithium carbonate prices have slightly increased, with long-term sales being the main focus for lithium salt enterprises, and spot prices showing a slight increase compared to last Friday. Some lithium salt enterprises are adopting a wait-and-see attitude. Meanwhile, cathode enterprises continue to rely on long-term contracts and customer supply as their main procurement channels, and have already purchased some inventory in advance, which can basically meet the short-term production usage. There is a general consensus that the transactions for spot purchases at high prices are relatively weak.
