With the continuous increase in demand for energy storage, the increase in energy storage cell capacity is an inevitable trend in development. Haisen Energy has even launched a super large energy storage cell with a capacity of 1130Ah.

Once the cell capacity reaches the level of 320Ah, the internal temperature of the cell will exceed 800°, which is higher than the decomposition temperature of lithium iron phosphate. Undoubtedly, this poses challenges to the safety, design energy, and production and manufacturing processes of the other links in the industry chain. After the 280Ah was introduced to the market in 2020, no more than three energy cell factories will be able to mass produce in 2021, and by 2022 it will become the mainstream for energy storage station applications. The first batch of 280Ah energy cells that are installed will see a significant increase in after-sales events around 2025.

As energy cells become larger, the issue of energy storage safety needs to be given more attention. Only by doing so can the industry continue to progress, rather than leave a mess behind.
