"SMM Daily Report: Lithium Carbonate Prices Fall Again on December 6th

SMM reported on December 6th that the SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index was 121,771 yuan/ton, down 3010 yuan/ton compared to the previous working day. The average price for battery-grade lithium carbonate was 117,000-128,000 yuan/ton, with an average of 122,500 yuan/ton, down 0.35 yuan/ton compared to the previous working day. The average price for industrial-grade lithium carbonate was 105,000-114,000 yuan/ton, with an average of 109,500 yuan/ton, down 0.4 yuan/ton compared to the previous working day.

Lithium salt companies in the market continue to focus on long-term contracts for delivery, but spot prices for individual orders continue to fall. Some salt lake companies are selling lithium carbonate spot at low prices, while trading companies are selling battery-grade lithium carbonate spot with a stable surcharge of around 2,000-3,000 yuan/ton. However, there has been a shift in procurement sentiment among downstream cathode material companies, with some purchasing spot from trading companies at relatively low prices in small quantities."
