Recently, the Guangxi Laibin Pumped Storage Power Station, designed by China Energy Engineering Group Guangxi Survey and Design Institute, has started construction. The power station is a key project to be implemented in Guangxi during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period for the national pumped storage development plan. It is located in the eastern part of Jinxiu County, Laibin City, Guangxi. The power station consists of four parts: the upper reservoir, lower reservoir, water transmission system, and power plant, with a capacity of 1200 megawatts. It is expected to generate approximately 14.33 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually after production.

Once completed, the power station will be mainly used for peak shaving, valley filling, energy storage, frequency regulation, phase adjustment, and emergency backup in the Guangxi power system. It will effectively improve the comprehensive utilization of local clean energy, reduce system energy consumption, ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system, enhance the reliability of the grid, and promote the local economic and social development.
