On December 4th, the Dunhua Dagou River Pumped Storage Power Station in Jilin Province was publicly announced. The project is located within the territory of Yanming Lake Town, Dunhua City, Yanbian, Jilin Province, with a installed capacity of 1200MW. The total investment of the project is 9.062 billion yuan, and it is invested and constructed by Huaneng Dunhua Dagou River Pumped Storage Co., Ltd. The annual average power generation of the power station is 10.94 billion kilowatt hours, and the annual average pumped power is 14.59 billion kilowatt hours, with a comprehensive utilization coefficient of 75%.

After the completion of the power station, it will mainly undertake tasks such as peak shaving, valley filling, energy storage, frequency regulation, phase regulation, and emergency backup for grid operation, while also serving the transmission of new energy power.

It is reported that the project has been included in the "Medium and Long-term Development Plan for Pumped Storage Energy (2021-2035)" of the National Energy Administration, as a key pumped storage project to be implemented during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, and is also a key project to be implemented during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period in Jilin Province.
