SMM Weekly Review: Electrolyte Prices Remain Weak This Week
This week, the price of electrolyte continued to fall slightly. On the supply side, with the continuous decline in lithium prices, suppliers have been cautious in purchasing lithium carbonate and hexafluoride, and have a pessimistic attitude towards the future market, maintaining a production-on-demand state and basically not holding inventory. On the demand side, the terminal power and energy storage markets continue to show weakness, with battery manufacturers continuing to pressure the price of electrolytes, and some small and medium-sized battery manufacturers making frequent purchases on a one-on-one negotiation basis. On the cost side, as the price of lithium carbonate continues to decline, the price of hexafluoride also falls. Due to the reduction in production by some solvent factories, the production of DMC and EMC in the market is decreasing, with a slight expectation of an increase in the future. The overall cost of electrolytes has slightly decreased. As the current price has surpassed the production cost line of manufacturers, electrolyte manufacturers have a certain willingness to support the price, and it is expected that the price of electrolyte will stabilize after a slight decrease in the future.
