Recently, the 20 MW new energy storage system demonstration project of Guangdong Energy Group has been put into commercial operation. This project is the first "lithium battery + super capacitor" combined frequency modulation project in Guangdong Province and has been included in the National Key Research and Development Plan "Energy Storage and Smart Grid Technology" Key Special Project.

The project is located in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. By innovatively adopting the "16 MW/8 MWh lithium iron phosphate battery" and the largest domestic "4 MW×10min super capacitor" combination of new energy storage technology, the flexibility of coal-fired unit adjustment capacity is effectively improved, and the multiple benefits of energy saving, low carbon and environmental protection are remarkable. The project entered commercial trial operation on October 2 this year, effectively promoting the comprehensive performance index of coal-fired unit frequency modulation to a large extent, and its efficiency ranks first among similar coal-fired units in China.
