SHANGHAI, Aug 17 (SMM) – The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index was 227,871 yuan/mt on August 16, a decrease of 4,379 yuan/mt from the previous working day. Battery-grade lithium carbonate price range was 218,000-242,000 yuan/mt, a decrease of 4,000 yuan/mt from the previous working day; industrial-grade lithium carbonate price range was 208,000-224,000 yuan/mt, a decrease of 5,000 yuan/mt. Due to sufficient supply in the spot market, downstream enterprises generally hold back from purchasing. Supply surplus has continued. Some sellers cut offers further due to inventory pressure and bearish price outlook.
