Peru's March Copper Production up 20% YoY After Copper Mine Resumes Production

SHANGHAI, May 10 (SMM) - According to a statement released by the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mining on May 9 local time, Peruvian copper production rose 20.4% year-on-year to 219,275 mt in March, and the first-quarter copper output added 11.2% year-on-year to 615,514 mt. Due to the shutdown caused by local protests and other factors, the output of the Las Bombas copper mine of Minmetals Resources and Antapaccay copper mine of Glencore dropped sharply in February this year, but the output of Southern Copper increased by nearly 80% in March, Antapaccay surged by 65%, and Cerro Verde added by 7.3%.
