The Difference Between Pig Iron Costs And Steel Scrap Prices Expanded In March

SHANGHAI, Apr 11 (SMM) – The difference between pig iron costs and steel scrap prices expanded 47 yuan/mt MoM to 279.7 yuan/mt as of March 31, which was lower than the average price difference of 322 yuan/mt in 2022, and was at a relatively lower level of the fluctuation range (-135, 789) of the difference between the two last year. In March, steel scrap prices showed basically identical trend as iron ore prices, while coke prices were relatively stable. Pig iron costs did not change much.
