Demand For Steel Increased Last Week Amid Improving Weather Condition And Terminal Demand  

SHANGHAI, Apr 4 (SMM) - In terms of rebar, the weather condition improved and the terminal demand recovered. But the continuous rainfall in Guangdong slowed down the pace of terminal construction and thus the regional market transactions were thin. In the follow-up stage, the rainy season will continue to affect the terminal demand. However, the resumption of construction projects in north-east China may drive up the demand. As such, demand for rebar is expected to fluctuate narrowly this week. In terms of HRC, SMM statistics showed that the social inventory of HRC across the country decreased 6.40% compared with the previous week. The falling HRC prices stimulated the terminal demand. In the follow-up stage, the HRC demand may increase steadily amid the support from stronger infrastructure, automobiles, steel structures and photovoltaics sectors.
