Prices of Lead-Acid Battery Scrap were Low and Profits of Secondary Refined Lead Smelters were Restored

SHANGHAI, Mar 22 (SMM) - At the beginning of last week, SHFE 2304 lead contract was at a low level, and thus some secondary refined lead smelters lowered their purchase price of battery scrap. The SMM e-bike battery scrap price, the average price of battery scrap with white shell, and that with black shell fell 50 yuan/mt, 25 yuan/mt, 25 yuan/mt respectively. Although the lead price rebounded last week, most secondary refined lead smelters did not raised their purchase prices for battery scrap. It is estimated that the profits of secondary refined lead smelters has been restored to more than 300 yuan/mt.
