SHANGHAI, Mar 2 (SMM) - On March 2, the prices of high-carbon ferrochrome in Inner Mongolia were 9,200-9,300 yuan/mt (Cr 50%), flat from the previous trading day.
The ferrochrome retail market was sluggish. The producers intended to raise their prices, but the market prices remained stable. The imports of ferrochrome from South Africa increased significantly in January, which is expected to ease the shortage of ferrochrome supply in China to a certain extent. Ferrochrome prices are unlikely to rise amid the poor demand despite the chrome ore prices are high.
