SHANGHAI, Mar 1 (SMM) - On March 1, the prices of high-carbon ferrochrome in Inner Mongolia were 9,200-9,300 yuan/mt (Cr 50%), flat from the previous trading day.
In March, the bid price disclosed by stainless steel mills was raised by 250 yuan/mt (Cr 50%), boosting the ferrochrome manufacturers' confidence, but the overall market transactions remained weak, hindering the further price hikes. Ferrochrome plants in the south suffered losses, while those in the north got higher profit margins. The market shall keep an eye on the consumption by stainless steel mills and the market inventory.
