SMM survey showed that the utilisation rate of coking plants this week was 78.0%, an increase of 0.7 percentage point from last week. The utilization rate of coking plants in Shanxi was 76.3%, an increase of 0.4 percentage point.
Despite lower profit this week, coke prices are expected to rise. On inventory, steel mills’ purchases increased due to high pig iron output, lowering coke inventory.
