Aluminium Extruders Actively Resumed Work after Reducing or Stopping the Production during CNY Holiday in January

SHANGHAI, Feb 14 (SMM) - The average operating rate of aluminium extruders stood at 31.25% in January, down 5.26 percentage point month on month and 8.45 percentage points year on year, SMM survey showed. The average operating rate of large enterprises was 32.79%, medium-sized enterprises 29.76%, and small enterprises 17.31%. By sectors, the operating rate of construction extrusion companies was 28.26% in January, down 4.36% from the previous month and 11.49% YoY, and that of industrial extrusion enterprises was 41.18%, down 11.34% from the previous month but up 4.75% from the same period last year.

During January 10-15, most aluminium extruders across the country either stopped or reduced the production amid the CNY holiday, leading to a sharp decline in operating rates. Among them, large-sized leading enterprises produced in shift and thus their operating rates declined slightly, while most small and medium-sized enterprises stopped the production. The operating rates of construction extruders dropped seasonally as some construction extruders in north China were shut down as early as November and December. With regard to industrial extrusion, orders concerning lightweight automobiles and photovoltaic have been satisfying. Therefore, some top-tier extruders produced actively during the Chinese New Year holiday.
