MIIT: China Lithium Battery Output Exceeded 95GWh from March to April, Lithium Carbonate and Lithium Hydroxide Prices still at a High Level

SHANGHAI, May 27 (SMM) - On May 27, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the Operation of the National Lithium-ion Battery Industry in March-April 2022.

According to the document, China’s lithium battery output exceeded 95GWh from March to April. The output of energy storage batteries exceeded 10.5GWh, and the installed capacity of power batteries was 34.6GWh. The total export of lithium batteries reached 42.3 billion yuan from March to April.

The output of cathode materials, anode materials, separators, and electrolytes reached 240,000 mt, 190,000 mt, 1.8 billion square meters, and 110,000 mt respectively from March to April.

The output of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide reached 51,000 mt and 35,000 mt respectively from March to April, and their average prices were 492,000 yuan/mt and 478,000 yuan/mt respectively.
