The National Development and Reform Commission and the Energy Bureau solicited opinions on the interim measures for Safety Management of Electrochemical Energy Storage Power stations

SMM: on August 24th, in order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the central leading comrades' instructions on the safety management of electrochemical energy storage power stations and strengthen the safety management of electrochemical energy storage power stations, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration organized and drafted the interim measures for Safety Management of Electrochemical Energy Storage Power stations (draft for soliciting opinions) to solicit opinions from the public.

It is reported that the interim measures for the Safety Management of Electrochemical Energy Storage Power stations (draft for soliciting opinions) prescribes the safety management of energy storage power stations for the first time, and formulates a series of new system designs according to the characteristics of energy storage. At the same time, considering that energy storage power stations are currently a rapidly developing emerging industry, some standards and norms have not yet been issued, so it is mentioned in the "interim measures" that the next step is to study the corresponding systems and norms. Refine the technical indicators and operation procedures to ensure the effective implementation of this law.

Moreover, it is also mentioned in the "interim measures" that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology should strengthen the production and manufacturing management of energy storage-related products and systems and raise the entry threshold for enterprises; market supervision and management departments should also strengthen the quality supervision and management of energy storage-related products and systems to ensure the quality of energy storage products and improve the safety requirements of energy storage products.
