Western Australian government temporarily waives royalties for three lithium mining companies

SMM12 March 16: recently, the Western Australian government announced that, Galaxy Resources's Mt Cattlin business, Pilbara Minerals's Pilgangoora business and Altura Mining's Pilgangoora business will receive a 50% royalty rebate for spodumene concentrate for a period of 12 months.

Eligible recipient companies must return the full amount of the subsidy to the state government within two years after the end of the "assistance period". It should be noted that if the average price of lithium concentrate reaches or exceeds $550 / ton in one quarter of the next 12 months, the government will no longer provide a tax rebate and require the company to pay full royalties.
