The piling construction of No. 2 generator unit began on January 15, 2019. during the construction period, the novel coronavirus epidemic spread around the world, and the park overcame many difficulties when the domestic commissioners were unable to get to the island in time. The leaders of the park "pay attention to epidemic prevention on the one hand, construction on the other and cohesion on the other", actively coordinate the resources of all parties, and constantly improve the commissioning, start-up and test scheme of Unit 2 on the basis of the successful power transmission experience of Unit 1, which creates good conditions for the successful grid connection of Unit 2. At present, the system status and parameters of No. 2 unit are normal, the operation is stable, and the parameters meet the requirements of the design specification.

The successful grid connection of Unit 2 effectively relieves the power supply pressure of Unit 1 in the park, and is of great significance to the subsequent increase of the production load of electric furnace and the output of Ferro Nickel. The joint power supply of units 1 and 2 indicates that the two units in the park will fight side by side, which lays a good foundation for the continuous power supply of the park. The successful grid connection of Unit 2 has stabilized the Electroweb of the park, ensured the electricity demand for the production of nickel-iron lines, and contributed to the long flow of nickel water in Weidabei Park.
