Hyundai Motor’s global sales in the second quarter reached 991,885 units, down 6.9% from a year earlier.
Domestic sales fell 16.4% to 157,647 units due to supply disruptions caused by a fire at a parts supplier. Overseas sales also declined 4.9% to 834,238 units amid slowing global auto demand.
In the U.S., Hyundai Motor sold 264,587 units, up 0.9% year-on-year. Hybrid sales reached 187,661 units in the second quarter, marking a record quarterly high, while EV sales stood at 69,366 units.
Combined sales of electrified vehicles, including hybrids and EVs, rose 1.7% to 266,627 units.
