Zijin Mining Advances Lithium Projects as Manono Mine Starts Ahead of Schedule

Zijin Mining said its lithium business is progressing steadily, with the Manono lithium project in the DRC commencing dense media separation operations in May 2026, about one month ahead of schedule. The first-stage refining project is expected to be completed by December 2026, while the 3Q Salt Lake, Laguocuo Salt Lake and Xiangyuan hard-rock lithium projects continue ramping up production.

Recently, Jiangsu Kaiyang Ship Co., Ltd. underwent industrial and commercial changes, with the original shareholder, Changzhou Longcheng Ship Repair Co., Ltd., withdrawing and CATL's wholly-owned subsidiary, CATL Electric Ship Technology Co., Ltd., becoming a new shareholder. This shows that CATL is continuously adjusting its strategic positioning in the maritime electrification track.

[Lithium Battery: 30,000-Ton Waste Lithium Battery Recycling Comprehensive Utilization Project Lands In Guizhou]

On July 7, Guizhou Huayan New Materials Co., Ltd. initiated the environmental impact assessment for its "Waste New Energy Lithium Battery Recycling Comprehensive Utilization Project." The project is located in the Geyi Economic Development Zone, Taijiang County, Guizhou Province, with a total investment of 80 million yuan. It plans to process 30,000 tons of waste lithium batteries annually, including 12,000 tons of ternary lithium batteries and 18,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate batteries. The project's construction entity, Guizhou Huayan New Materials Co., Ltd., was established in February 2024 with a registered capital of 51 million yuan.

Enchem announced on July 10 that it will introduce an AI-based R&D system specialized in liquid electrolyte design through cooperation with AI company Aistar.
