According to SMM data, silicon metal production in June was 358,400 mt, up 8.2% MoM and up 9.3% YoY. Cumulative silicon metal production from January to June 2026 was 1.9903 million mt, up 6% YoY.

In June, silicon metal production rose 27,000 mt MoM, with the increase mainly coming from Sichuan and Yunnan. However, total production in Sichuan and Yunnan was lower than the same period last year. Among them, Sichuan production dropped significantly YoY by around 40%, while Yunnan showed a YoY increase due to more large furnaces being in operation.
In July, regional silicon metal supply is expected to show increased production in south China, while north China remains flat or sees minor production cuts. A small number of silicon furnaces in Xinjiang may plan routine maintenance, having a minor impact. Silicon metal production in Yunnan and Sichuan is expected to continue to rise as operating rates improve during the rainy season. Overall, silicon metal production in July is expected to increase to above 390,000 mt.
