The agreement aimed to fully integrate the resources and technological advantages of both parties to establish a more comprehensive and in-depth strategic partnership in the maritime new energy sector. The two parties will make concerted efforts in technology collaboration, resource sharing, and market expansion to jointly advance the R&D, certification, and large-scale commercialization of high C-rate LFP marine battery systems and bring them to the global market.

According to Anson on May 14, both Anson’s board and POSCO Holdings’ board have approved the terms of a definitive agreement to build and operate a DLE demonstration plant. The two companies will build the demonstration plant at the Green River Lithium Project site in the Paradox Basin in Utah, the United States. Through the demonstration plant, lithium will be extracted from brine produced from Anson’s Bosydaba #1 well. The companies aim to sign the final agreement within the second quarter and begin operating the plant next year. They plan to carry out demonstration work through 2028 to secure DLE technology.

According to Bloomberg on May 13 local time, Canadian mining company Nouveau Monde Graphite is expected to formally approve plans this week at its shareholders’ meeting to develop a graphite mine in Saint-Michel-des-Saints, Quebec, and build concentration and refining facilities. The project aims to start operations by the end of 2028. At the shareholders’ meeting, a plan to raise a total of USD 645 million in external funding for the project was approved.
