[SMM Steel] Carbon Cost Advantage Buoys European Demand; Brazilian Slab Export Offers Hold Steady with Slight Adjustment

Published: Jul 13, 2026 14:52
[Brazil] This week, Brazilian slab export offers for September shipments held steady at 575-595 USD/tonne FOB. Although demand for Brazilian slabs remains robust across major overseas importing markets—particularly in the EU, where Brazilian material is highly favored for its highly competitive carbon cost advantage—export premiums continue to face resistance from aggressive Asian competitors. While exporters acknowledge they cannot fully meet all overseas demand for September shipments, the intense international competition is ultimately anchoring the price trend for the new round of allocations at stable to slightly softer levels.
