[Sheets & Plates] Today, export prices of hot-rolled coil (HRC) and other sheets & plates rose $1-2/mt DoD, with HRC transaction prices at $487-492/mt. China’s futures market rose today, and traders reported that transactions were not as good as in the previous few days, while order intake at steel mills also fell short of expectations.

[SMM HRC Daily Trading Volume] Spot HRC Trading Volume Increases Significantly

[SMM HRC Daily Trading Volume] On July 23, the total daily trading volume of HRC among sample enterprises in four cities tracked by SMM (Shanghai, Lecong, Tianjin, Ningbo) reached 13,660 mt, up 1,390 mt, or 11.6%, day-on-day, down 16.66% YoY on a solar calendar basis, and down 11.36% YoY on a lunar calendar basis.
