[SMM Tin Flash News: AI chip demand remains robust, TSMC's first-five-month sales rose 30%]
Driven by demand from the global boom in AI infrastructure construction, TSMC's sales increased 30% in the first five months, with May revenue reaching NT$416.98 billion ($13.2 billion). Combined revenue for April and May was up about 24% YoY. The market expects the company's Q2 sales to increase 35%. TSMC has been optimistic about global AI chip demand. The company's chairman told shareholders earlier this month that global chip supply will not be able to meet demand in the coming years. In April this year, TSMC raised its full-year sales guidance and said its capital expenditure would trend toward the upper end of its existing forecast range, with 2026 capex potentially reaching as high as $56 billion.
