According to Shanghai’s official release: At the start of the new year, the city is seizing the moment to get off to a strong start, serving enterprises with greater intensity and sustaining stable expectations and firm development confidence. On 6 February, Chen Jining, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Mayor of Shanghai, Huang Lixin, Standing Committee Chairperson of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress, Hu Wenrong, Chairperson of the Shanghai Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Zhu Zhongming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee headed to key enterprises for visits and surveys, listened to their views, and conducted on-site office work.

Chen Jining pointed out that it is necessary to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important remarks during his inspection of Shanghai, continue to foster a world-class market-oriented, law-based, and international business environment, deepen the implementation of the “service package” system for key enterprises, respond to enterprise demands and deliver enterprise services with greater precision and efficiency, and fully support enterprises in continuously optimizing their layout, upgrading their capabilities, and growing bigger in Shanghai, so as to better align with Shanghai’s modernization and high-quality development.

Align with the trends of digitalization, intelligence, and green development, deepen core businesses, strengthen functions, accelerate the cultivation of a first-class trading platform, and continuously enhance industry pricing power and international influence.

SMM Information & Technology Co., Ltd. has long focused on the non-ferrous metals sector, providing the industry’s authoritative spot benchmark prices. Its subsidiary, SMM Trading Center Co., Ltd., actively expands trade service categories, drives innovation in business models, helps industry enterprises discover more trading opportunities, improves transaction security and efficiency, and assists financial institutions in delivering new-type supply-chain financial services. During his visit to SMM Trading Center, Chen Jining reviewed real-time trading data at the trading center and SMM spot prices. He also held discussions and exchanges with the enterprise's management team, listened to briefings on the company's core businesses and future development plans, and responded one by one to specific issues that need to be addressed for the enterprise's development, service support that needs to be deepened, and capacity enhancement that needs to be promoted, while clarifying the relevant counterpart units.

Chen Ji Ning said that as an important trading platform, the main business of SMM aligns with the construction of Shanghai's international trade center. He hoped that SMM would adapt to the trends of digitalization, intelligence, and green development, deepen its main business, strengthen its functions, accelerate the cultivation of a first-class trading platform, and continuously enhance its industry pricing power and international influence. It is necessary to continue efforts in improving comprehensive service capabilities, better leverage professional advantages, deepen market research, and provide decision-making references. SMM needs to better play the role of the platform, providing professional service support for enterprises "going global". Relevant departments and districts should provide efficient services, supporting SMM to focus on innovation and development without distractions, and to successfully host industry annual meetings, build distinctive brands, and amplify overall effects.
