Codelco's Copper Production in Chile to Increase to 1.328 Million mt in 2024
Foreign media reported on January 8 that an internal document revealed Codelco, Chile's state-owned copper company, would achieve a copper production of 1.328 million mt in 2024. Earlier this week, Codelco Chairman Máximo Pacheco stated that the 2024 production would be "slightly higher" than the 1.325 million mt recorded in 2023. The 2023 production marked the lowest level in 25 years due to declining ore grades, accidents, and errors in major construction projects. Since then, Codelco has been striving to boost production and accelerated output at the end of last year to meet its 2024 target.
