**Stainless Steel: POSCO Stainless Steel Wins "Best Innovative Unit Award" in Suzhou**
In October, the 2024 Jiangsu Province J-TOP Innovation Challenge Season's specialty event for the new materials industry, titled the "Science and Technology Town Chief Delegation Cup" Suzhou International Innovation Challenge, successfully concluded. This challenge was led by enterprises with support from universities and research institutions. It focused on publishing a series of technological needs related to scientific and technological difficulties and technological bottlenecks, conducting research on key and important technologies, accelerating breakthroughs in the development bottlenecks of key industries, and promoting high-level scientific and technological self-reliance. POSCO Stainless Steel Group released research and development on the extreme control of non-metallic inclusions in ultra-high-purity stainless steel. In collaboration with Soochow University and Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, they proposed new methods and implementable process systems to address the extreme control of inclusions. After passing the qualification rounds, preliminaries, and finals, they successfully won the Best Solution Award. POSCO Stainless Steel Group was awarded the "Best Innovative Unit Award." Chen Gang from the POSCO Stainless Steel Group Technology Research Center attended the conference on behalf of POSCO and received the award on stage.
