On October 31, reporters learned from the Office of the Anhui Provincial Ecological Environmental Protection Committee that since October 27, due to unfavorable meteorological conditions, some areas in Hebei, Henan, and Shandong have experienced widespread moderate to severe air pollution. It is predicted that over the next week, influenced by northerly air currents, Anhui Province will experience a round of moderate to severe pollution, meeting the criteria for initiating a provincial-level orange warning as stipulated in the "Emergency Response Plan for Heavy Pollution Weather in Anhui Province." After deliberation by the Office of the Anhui Provincial Ecological Environmental Protection Committee and approval by responsible comrades of the provincial government, it was decided to issue a provincial-level orange warning for heavy pollution weather and initiate a provincial-level Grade II response at 8:00 PM on October 31. The warning covers seven prefecture-level cities: Huaibei, Bozhou, Suzhou, Bengbu, Fuyang, Huainan, and Lu'an.
Some secondary lead smelters in Anhui Province have indicated that they anticipate production reductions or shutdowns over the next two days; however, based on SMM experience, the actual reduction in output will not be as severe as anticipated, and the market is urged to view this news rationally.
