China’s steel exports rose 1.668 million mt MoM in August 2024

In August 2024, China exported 9.495 million mt of steel, an increase of 1.668 million mt from the previous month, up 21.3% MoM; from January to August, the cumulative export of steel was 70.575 million mt, up 20.6% YoY. In August, China imported 509,000 mt of steel, an increase of 4,000 mt from the previous month, up 0.8% MoM; from January to August, the cumulative import of steel was 4.631 million mt, down 8.4% YoY.
