According to reports from Bloomberg and other media outlets, the European Union (EU) plans to make minor adjustments to the additional tariffs imposed on electric vehicles imported from China after receiving updated information provided by the companies. Based on the current 10% tariff rate, the specific adjustments are as follows:
- Tesla's tariff rate will be reduced from 9% to 7.8%.
- BYD's tariff rate will remain unchanged at 17%.
- Geely Auto's tariff rate will be reduced from 19.3% to 18.8%.
- Companies that have not cooperated with the investigation will face a tariff rate of 20.7%.
- The tariff rate for SAIC Motor and other companies that have not cooperated with the EU's investigation will be reduced from 36.3% to 35.3%.
The final proposed tariffs will be voted on by the 27 member states of the EU. If 15 or more member states, accounting for 65% of the EU's population, vote against the tariffs, they will not be implemented.
