Beijing Rolls Out Subsidies for Energy-Efficient Appliance Trade-ins

On August 28th, 11 departments including the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission and the Municipal Finance Bureau jointly issued the "Implementation Plan of Beijing to Strengthen Support for Equipment Renewal and Trade-in of Consumer Goods", which proposes: Individual consumers in Beijing who purchase eight types of home appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, TVs, air conditioners, computers, water heaters, household stoves, and range hoods that meet the second-level energy efficiency (water efficiency) standards will be given a trade-in subsidy at 15% of the product's sales price; those who purchase products that meet the first-level energy efficiency (water efficiency) standards will be given a subsidy at 20% of the product's sales price.
