Tesla’s first overseas Megafactory for Energy Storage will be adorned with the attractive “appearance” of the color coated sheets from Maanshan Iron and Steel Company.

On May 23rd, the groundbreaking ceremony for Tesla’s Shanghai Megafactory for Energy Storage was held, with an anticipated commissioning date in the first quarter of 2025. The factory is initially planned to produce 10,000 Megapacks (ultra-large electrochemical commercial energy storage systems) annually, and upon completion, its energy storage capacity will reach nearly 40 gigawatt-hours (GWh).
