National Power Industry Statistics for First Half of 2023 Show Significant Growth in Solar and Wind Capacity

On July 20, the National Energy Administration released the national power industry statistics for January to June.

By the end of June, the cumulative installed capacity of power generation nationwide reached about 3.07 billion kilowatts, an increase of 14.1% year on year. Among them, the installed capacity of solar power generation was about 710 million kilowatts, an increase of 51.6% year on year; the installed capacity of wind power generation was about 470 million kilowatts, an increase of 19.9% year on year.

From January to June, the cumulative average utilization hours of power generation equipment nationwide was 1,666 hours, a decrease of 71 hours compared with the same period last year. From January to June, the investment in power supply projects completed by major power generation enterprises nationwide reached 344.1 billion yuan, an increase of 2.5% year on year. The investment in grid projects reached 254 billion yuan, an increase of 23.7% year on year.
