Beijing (Gasgoo)- On July 15, SAIC-GM's Buick brand announced the official rollout of the V3.3 OTA update for the Buick CENTURY MPV model. This latest update encompasses 12 significant enhancements for the intelligent driving and intelligent cockpit systems. Notably, the upgraded vehicles will feature the new NOP (Navigate-on-Pilot) function, enabling advanced intelligent assisted driving on closed roads.

With this OTA cloud update, the Buick CENTURY becomes the first model under an overseas brand to widely adopt the NOP system. The system offers L2+ advanced intelligent assisted driving capabilities across various road conditions, including general and urban expressways, as well as elevated roads.

Leveraging the safety and reliability of algorithms independently developed by Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), and supported by HD maps, the NOP system can accurately identify lane entrances and complex junctions. It can also precisely predict surrounding vehicles' movements, safely executing automatic merging or exiting maneuvers.

When the LCC (Lane Centering Control) function is activated, the vehicle will automatically upgrade to NOP upon entering general or urban expressways covered by HD maps. This system provides navigation assistance across a full-speed range of 0-130 km/h, offering refined and efficient automated car following and stop-and-go functionality in traffic congestion scenarios. Additionally, NOP supports flexible and efficient lane changing, smart avoidance of merging vehicles from ramps, adjacent large vehicles, and intelligent speed adjustment.

The NOP function, independently developed by PATAC to suit Chinese road conditions and using scenarios, is currently available in 348 cities across China, with nearly 400,000 kilometers of activated distance.

[SMM Daily Review: Spot Lithium Carbonate Prices Continued to Fall on May 19] Today, SMM battery-grade spot lithium carbonate prices fluctuated downward compared to the previous working day. Futures side, the lithium carbonate 2609 contract opened high at 191,000 yuan/mt today, then quickly pulled back after the opening. During the morning session, it fluctuated downward and broke below the average price line. Around midday, it accelerated its decline to a daily low of 182,100 yuan/mt (a drop of over 5%). In the afternoon session, it rebounded slightly but struggled to rebound further, weakening again toward the close, ultimately settling down 3.71% at 184,400 yuan/mt, with open interest decreasing by 20,533 lots. Spot market, lithium carbonate prices pulled back from highs after the previous rapid rally, which notably stimulated downstream inquiries and purchasing enthusiasm. Upstream lithium chemical plants still maintained willingness to hold prices firm, and some enterprises that had hedged at previous highs increased spot order shipments to downstream buyers. Overall, inquiries and actual transactions in the spot market were active. Lithium prices are expected to have limited downside in the short term and are expected to hover at highs.
