On July 5, nickel ore inventory across the national ports in China increased by 90,000 wmt WoW to 8.129 million wmt. The total equivalent metal content was 63,840 mt. Among them, the inventory at the seven major ports was 4.49 million wmt. Last week, the high-frequency rainfall in the Philippines continued to affect the local laterite nickel ore loading and shipping efficiency. In addition, with the recent sluggish transactions in the China's market, the demand from the Indonesian market digested the main supply of medium-grade laterite nickel ore from the Philippines in June to a certain extent, resulting in a slowdown in the inventory accumulation at the major domestic ports. It is expected that this trend will continue with the sluggish market prices of NPI in July.
