[SMM Steel Shipping] Last week, China's total exports were up 18% WoW

I. Steel Shipments under Domestic Trade

1. Shipment data

Last week (June 8-June 14)

SMM's total steel shipments from ports nationwide were 6.0211 million mt, down 1.8932 million mt WoW, a decrease of 24%. Among them, the total shipments from the six major northern ports (Jingtang Port, Caofeidian Port, Bayuquan Port, Tianjin New Port, Huanghua Port, Jinzhou Port) were 2.2952 million mt, down 687,100 mt WoW, accounting for 38% of the total shipments. The total shipments from the three major ports in east China (Shanghai Port, Zhangjiagang Port, Lanbei Port) were 377,300 mt, down 7.77 mt WoW, accounting for 6% of the total shipments. The total shipments from the two major ports in south China (Zhanjiang Port, Fangchenggang Port) were 396,800 mt, down 12,600 mt, accounting for 7% of the total shipments.

2. Port arrivals data

Last week (June 8-June 14)

SMM China's total steel port arrivals were 6.1809 million mt, up 283,900 mt WoW, an increase of 5%. Among them, the total port arrivals at 13 main ports in east China were 3.6551 million mt, down 49,100 mt WoW, accounting for 59% of last week's total port arrivals. The total port arrivals at Guangzhou Port in south China were 213,700 mt, down 54,100 mt, accounting for 3% of last week's total port arrivals.

II. Steel Foreign Trade Shipping

1. Shipment Data

Last week (June 8-June 14)

Global (excluding China) port steel shipments totaled 1.8237 million mt, up 5% WoW. Chinese port shipments totaled 2.5911 million mt, up 18%.

Last week, global port steel plate shipments were 90,700 mt, down 43% WoW. Global port steel coil shipments were 273,500 mt, up 12%. Global port pig iron shipments totaled 808,700 mt, up 11%. Global port steel billet shipments totaled 386,800 mt, up 17%.

2. Port Arrivals Data

Last week (June 8-June 14)

The total amount of steel arriving at 119 Chinese ports was 48.82 mt, up 138,600 mt WoW, an increase of 40%.
