On November 7, the Office of the People's Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region issued a notice on the issuance of the Implementation Plan for the Photovoltaic Desert Control Action in the Autonomous Region.
The document pointed out that in cooperation with the ecological governance projects such as the Six Phases of the "Three Norths", the large-scale development of photovoltaic desert control in the whole region was implemented to help the systematic governance of key areas such as Kubuqi Desert, Wulanbuhe Desert and Maowusu Desert. Part of the two major sand fields of Horqin and Hunshandake can be fully covered, and the acceleration of the border closure project of the two major deserts of Badanjilin and Tenggele will effectively curb the southward trend of the desert. By 2025, the installed capacity of photovoltaic desert control will exceed 21.4 million kilowatts, with an annual power generation of about 36 billion kilowatt-hours, and the area of photovoltaic desert control will be 640,000 mu; by 2030, the installed capacity of photovoltaic desert control will reach 89 million kilowatts, with an annual power generation of 150 billion kilowatt-hours, and the area of photovoltaic desert control will be about 2.3 million mu, and the economy under the board will grow rapidly.
