Bulgarian government has started public consultation on the country's first renewable energy tender, with a proposed capacity of 570MW for wind and solar energy. According to a notice issued by the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy, this tender also includes 150MW of storage capacity. The main purpose of this tender is to encourage all parties to contribute to the climate neutrality by increasing the proportion of clean energy in Bulgaria's energy structure.
The Bulgarian government plans to build 1.4GW of renewable energy and 350MW of storage capacity in the coming years. The storage facilities participating in the bidding should have a capacity of at least 30% of the total installed capacity, and no less than 1MW. In addition, the maximum capacity of the storage facilities shall not exceed 50% of the total installed capacity.
